Tipu Sultan (1749 – 1799)
Known as the Tiger of Mysore, he was a ruler of the kingdom of Mysore, a scholar, a brave soldier and also a poet. This portrait of Tipu Sultan depicts him wearing a turban, a striped shirt, necklace, girth belt and a stone studded cross belt.
