Rao Bahadur Narayan Trimbak Vaidya (b. 1856)
After graduation, he entered government service, where he became the superintendent of the Secretariat Press. He received the titles of Rao Saheb, Rao Bahadur, and Justice of Peace for the island of Bombay and soon became one of Bombay’s most popular Hindus. This photograph was taken in Poona and used as a reference by Raja Ravi Varma to paint his large portrait in oil.
