Prithviraja III Chauhan was a king from the Chauhan dynasty who ruled much of the present-day Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and some parts of Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. His capital was located at Ajmer. In 1192, the Ghurids defeated and executed him at the second battle of Tarain. His defeat is a milestone event in the Islamic conquest of India.
