Anupam Sud is an acclaimed Indian painter and printmaker based in New Delhi, celebrated for her refined intaglio and lithographic works. With a career spanning several decades, she has exhibited internationally and is known for her deep engagement with the human form, memory, and the layered complexities of emotion. Her works often blend drawing with printmaking techniques, creating delicate yet powerful narratives, especially of women.

This ink portrait of Anupam Sud was created by Jatin Das in 1999, in Goa. It captures Sud in a moment of quiet observation, wearing dark glasses and a floral-patterned garment rendered with loose brushwork and splashes of color. Das incorporates a study of a couple in the background from Goa beach —perhaps a nod to both artists’ shared interest in the human figure.
