Paramjit Singh was born in 1935, in Amritsar, Punjab and received his Diploma in Fine Arts from Delhi Polytechnic in 1958 and studied Print making at Atelier Nord, Norway in the 1970’s. He was a Professor of Art and Art Education at Jamia Milia Islamia University and is known for creating panoramic visions of mystic landscapes, and a glimpse beyond the urban world, taking them beyond the noise and chaos of roads packed with vehicles, and into spaces with abundant nature. He won a National Award in 1970 and has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and shows, in India and across the world. Married to renowned artist Arpita Singh, he currently lives and works in New Delhi.
