Akbar’s son Nur-ud-din Muhammad Salim, better known by his imperial name Jahangir (world-conqueror in Persian), was the fourth Mughal emperor from 1605 until his death in 1627. Jahangir won a century long bloody war against the Rajputs in the state of Mewar (center and south of modern Rajasthan).
