Anonymous boy with Turban
Due to the presence of the Calcutta headquarters, many British photographers traveled in the interior parts of India and clicked the natives. This portrait is of a boy from the Eastern part of India, probably Bengal or Bihar. He seems to belong to an influential family as he is wearing a hand-woven shawl and headgear. The case is a thermoplastic union case and has been marked with the seal of Littlefield, Parsons & Co.. They were manufacturers of Daguerreotype cases and sole proprietors and the only legal manufacturers of UNION CASES that had embracing riveted hinges, which were also patented by them.
