Waswo X. Waswo was born in 1953 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in USA and studied at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and later at Studio Marangoni, the Centre for Contemporary Photography in Florence, Italy. He collaborates with a variety of local artists in Udaipur, including the photo hand-colourist Rajesh Soni and the artist R. Vijay. His works are represented by Gallerie Espace, Gallery Latitude 28 and by Serindia Gallery, Bangkok.
Since 2002, he formed a vast personal collection of Indian print making, which was exhibited at the India Habitat Centre, and the National Gallery of Modern Art. The collection has been donated to University of Iowa Stanley Museum of Art. He has lived and travelled in India for over twenty years and has made Udaipur as his home for the past thirteen years.
